First impressions are crucial when it comes to onboarding. The moment an end user interacts with IT, it sets the tone for the entire relationship. A smooth, transparent and efficient onboarding process not only helps build trust with IT and the organization but also ensures that security and best practices are implemented from the start. In this session, we’ll explore how to make that first interaction a great user experience, making your endusers fall in love with IT. We’ll begin by discussing the key tools you’ll use to streamline the onboarding process, including Automated Device Enrollment, Configuration Profiles, Jamf Setup Manager and macOS Onboarding. These tools will empower you to automate the majority of the onboarding workflow. The session will cover various onboarding workflows, from zero-touch to single-touch deployments, and explore the distinction between user-driven and IT-driven processes. You’ll learn how to handle user creation and understanding the difference between user and machine configurations. Lastly, we’ll discuss how to ensure your users are fully supported and ready to get to work. We’ll explore current solutions like old fashion PDFs manuals or swiftDialog workflows, and show you a new solution we (Jamf) are currently working on with customers to guide their end users with helpful prompts, messages and instructions during the setup process. By the end of this session, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to create the best onboarding experience that will help your end-users hit the ground running while maintaining security and compliance and build the trust with your IT department and organization.
