This session shares our journey to automate the developer Mac lifecycle by tackling the challenges of manual tracking, security gaps and inefficient workflows. We’ll provide a deep dive into our end-to-end solution, built using Jamf Pro, Okta, Slack and GitHub Actions. Attendees will learn how we: - Automated device refresh workflows to reduce IT intervention and improve the user experience - Integrated Okta to trigger actions like device locking for departed users, enhancing security - Used the Jamf API and GitHub Actions for custom automation, including device tagging and Slack notifications - Implemented reclamation processes to streamline replacement and boost security - Automated device retention processes, including status management, unmanaging, and removal from Jamf Pro This session highlights the measurable impact of our automation efforts—saving over four hours of manual work each week, improving our security posture and increasing IT efficiency.
